Exchange Agreement with 9 universities in Hainan Province of China

• - Promotion of various projects, such as student exchange, education and research manpower exchange etc -

SILLA University and 9 universities in Hainan Province of China have pursued the win-win strategy through the international exchange agreement. SILLA University held a ceremony for the International Exchange Agreement at 2:30 in the afternoon on 7 October in the conference room on the third floor of the main building participated in by main assignment holders of the related universities and officials of the Education Office, including president Tae-hak Park of SILLA University, president Jing-gui Huang of Hainan Economy, Trading, Vocation and Technique University, Commissioner Xiao-yu Han of the Policy and Regulations Department of the Education Office of Hainan Province etc.

The universities which held the agreement this time are 9 universities located in Hainan, China, including Hainan Economy, Trading, Vocation and Technique University, Hainan University, Hainan Normal University, Qingzhou University, Hainan Science, Technology and Occupation University etc.

Through the agreement of this day, SILLA University and 9 partners will carry out diverse cooperative projects, such as exchange of education and research personnel, exchange of academic research et al, including accommodation of graduate students, operation of 2+2 Program, and establishment of Korean language major.

Hainan Province is the island located at the southern end of the Chinese continent, with its settled population amounting to 9 million.  

However, at present, there are only 1,200 foreign students in all of the universities of Hainan Province, among which merely about 20 Korean students study there. The agreement of this time got accomplished as the Education Office of Hainan Province had selected universities in the region and arranged them to visit Korea for internationalization of their universities, which they expect will increase exchange and cooperation activities with Korea. By securing the cooperative bridgehead in Hainan Province, SILLA University looks forward to more expansion of the exchange outcome with China accumulated so far. At present, SILLA University is carrying out international exchange with 127 universities and institutions of 27 countries.
